the quaker wedding ceremony
Sam grew up a practicing Quaker and, along with his family, a member of the Willistown Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
It is the Quaker tradition that all are equal before God. A Quaker wedding ceremony, much like Quaker meeting for worship, is held in silence and open prayer and without the oversight of a minister. Anyone in attendance is considered an officiant of the ceremony and open to speak on the couple’s behalf.
